A treatment method for warping in surface grinder grinding

Surface grinders are commonly used by mechanical processing workers, but warping may occur during the grinding process. To effectively solve this problem, the following methods can be adopted:

Firstly, when grinding the aforementioned thin workpieces on a surface grinder, an elastic clamping structure is selected to ensure that the thin workpieces are in a free and clamped state. Place a layer of 0.5mm thick rubber between the workpiece and the magnetic worktable. When the workpiece is attracted by magnetic force, the rubber is compressed and the elastic deformation decreases. Then, the plane of the workpiece can be ground. Repeat grinding several times to meet the machining accuracy requirements.

Secondly, use epoxy resin adhesive to stick the thin workpiece onto the free state flat plate. Place the flat plate and thin plate together on the magnetic suction cup. After grinding one end of the sheet flat, remove the sheet workpiece from the flat plate, place the flat side on the magnetic suction cup, and then grind the other end of the sheet workpiece flat. Due to the fluidity of epoxy resin before hardening, it can fill the gap between thin workpieces and flat plates. After the epoxy resin hardens, the workpiece is bonded to the flat plate to form a whole, greatly enhancing the rigidity of the workpiece. Under the action of magnetic force, thin workpieces will not undergo clamping deformation, providing clear conditions for grinding flat surfaces. Thick lubricating grease can also be used to replace epoxy resin in filling the gaps between thin workpieces and magnetic suction cups, enhancing the rigidity of the workpieces and achieving excellent results.

Thirdly, use the flat pliers in the attachment of the surface grinder and use a magnetic worktable to suck the thin sheet of the workpiece onto the small flat pliers. Due to the height of the flat pliers, the jaw is less affected by magnetic force. Choose the method of gradually reducing the feed rate, grind a flat surface of the thin workpiece, and then remove it. At this point, place the already ground surface on the magnetic worktable and grind another surface of the thin sheet workpiece. Repeatedly grind several times, and the flatness of the two planes meets the requirements.

Fourth: Use atmospheric pressure clamping to grind thin workpieces.
